Tennis lessons

This week we started having tennis lessons at school.  On our first lesson we learned to throw the ball, bounce it and then catch it in a cone.  We did this with both hands.  Then we had a go at a trick called 'Round the World', where we had to throw the ball, bounce it, pass the cone around our bodies and then catch the ball before it bounced again.  Once we had mastered that, we had to do 'Round the World', passing the cone twice around our bodies.

Then we got to have a turn with the tennis racquets - we pretended that the tennis ball was a car and we had to 'park the car', 'park the car' and walk around (keeping the ball on the racquet) and then to 'drive the car' by rolling the ball around the racquet without dropping the ball.

Lastly, we got to bounce and hit the ball.  We had a lot of fun.

Here are our comments:

Ciara - tennis is fun when you put your mind to it.  I would like to do again.

Joshua - it was awesome.  I liked the 'Round the World' game the best.

Jacob - I liked the 'Double Round the World'.  It was a bit hard!

Rion - I saw our instructor at my tennis club.

Catrina - I liked the tennis.  It was easy and hard.

Jahnvi - it was easy and fun.

Viki - it was fun.  I liked the 'Round the World'.
