Shared Writing - The Dinosaur Chase

One day Room 17 were learning about dinosaurs.  We were having a sleepover at the Auckland Museum.  The dinosaurs came alive.  The dinosaurs chased us.  They ate the guards.  We hid and all of them ran past. The dinosaurs crashed straight into the fake volcano.  When they got up the meat-eaters smelt us and we pretended to be statues.  Johann blinked and dinosaurs caught us.   Jahnvi poked the dinosaur's eye out with a toy sword and so we could all escape and hide.  We hid in the museum library and when David took a book out, a door opened and Ciara noticed that there was a secret passage behind it.  We all raced through into the passage.  The passage went on and on and suddenly it started to climb.  We emerged to find ourselves back in Room 17 at Pinehill School.  It looked different.  Jacob noticed that there was a secret spy lab hidden behind the green curtains at the back of the room.  Joshua saw a red button and pushed it hard.  Sam yelled, "Look, the whiteboard is moving!!  What's behind it?"  Ji-Ho shouted,"It looks like a laser!"  Mrs Martel took down the laser and said, "It's a time portal laser.  We can point it at the dinosaurs and send them back to the Jurassic period!" Yu-Hyeon yelled, "Oh no, here come the dinosaurs!"  They had followed us through the passage.  Quickly, Mrs Martel pointed the laser at the dinosaurs, just as they were about to eat Iona, and 'ZAP!!' The dinosaurs were gone.  Phew, that was a close call!  Just then, Michael noticed there was one small dinosaur left.  Mack and Laura both grabbed the laser, but because they were jostling it, the setting changed to BBQ.  'ZAP'! The dinosaur turned into spare ribs and we all had a feast.
